Abstract:
In the realm of political satire, different explanatory principles work off different assumptions, leading to different questions being asked from unique vantage points, and thus generating new knowledge. In this talk I will focus on four principles: understanding, consistency, hedonic, and eudaimonic perspectives. As all of these principles are possibilities for satire, they need to be explored in full.
