    תקציר

    This talk will discuss the efforts of designing a narrative-based learning environment for engaging young learners with ethics in science and technology innovations.
    The talk focuses on how a transmedia approach, using Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, was developed into an educational experience combining digital media play and hands-on activities towards such engagement. Such a design approach was implemented across several settings, such as museums, schools, and an online platform. Through interdisciplinary work that bridged between the learning sciences, media and communication, and science and technology studies (STS), we studied learners' perceptions of ethics, how they engaged with tools we designed, and affordances (and constraints) of this NBL approach for digital literacies. The talk will conclude with implications for what transmedia and narrative-based environments mean in an era where our interactions with technological artifacts are becoming distributed across several spaces.
