פרופ' אורן מאיירס למד לב"א באוניברסיטה העברית ולמ"א ודוקטורט בבית הספר לתקשורת ע"ש אננברג באוניברסיטת פנסילבניה. הוא חבר סגל בחוג לתקשורת מאז 2005 וכיהן כראש החוג בין השנים 2019-2022. תחומי המחקר של מאיירס הם פרקטיקות וערכים עיתונאיים, זיכרון קולקטיבי, תרבות פופולארית והשיח הביטחוני בתקשורת הישראלית. מחקריו זכו למימון הקרן הלאומית למדע, משרד המדע והטכנולוגיה וקרנות מחקר נוספות. מאמריו התפרסמו בכתבי עת מובילים בתחום התקשורת.
